I have a broody hen. Since their nesting box is mounted high I’m worried that when the chicks hatch they will fall off the box. Should I transfer them lower once they hatch and where?
Pet him
I bought a minnow trap for this purpose when my other trap didn't work. What did you bait it with
Just got this as a potted hanging plant, perfect content. Thank you
Are you going to have any U-picks this summer?
Hi! I live in the Central Valley, CA. Getting ready to can apricots and appreciate your video. It’s just the way my MIL taught me 40 ys ago ❤️ you showed a pic of beautiful apricot pastries but I can’t find the recipe. I’d love to make them, thank you!
I've just set my first batch of 20 eggs here in Malaysia where the ambient humidity is 80 to 90 percent which I worried about but my farmer friend says they will be just fine as his broody hens are hatching all the time Which supports your common sense approach I just did my first 7 day candling and all are alive so far , so thanks for the video it is much appreciated
I need to move my Prime ark 45 from an area that is too shaded. Do you think it will kill the plant to move it in hot weather ? North Texas on june 19 ? Thanks
Yes it will probably die if you move it now. Wait for a rainy week in the fall if you can.
@@MilkAndHoneyAcreage Yeah I knew its not good to move plants this time of year but its in so much shade the floracanes never fruited and the prima canes arent looking too good either. I'll probably wait.Thanks.
Its tick season folks, check yourself and your loved ones for the little bastards
Great advice.
Your moms a transplant 😂
Always send the grandkids to pick blackberries. It is a great exercise in hand/eye coordination. If they do not go in just right their little hands will get ripped to shreds by the abundant thorns. Coordination will come quickly.
This is so true. We have since put in a row of thornless for our 3 year old. She loves berries. Some of them are the size of a golf ball. We’re in east Texas zone 8a.
Blackberries go nuts with water, sun and room to grow.
Yes they do. They should come with a disclaimer will take over. Lol
😊😊😊
Thank you, sincerely, for not having some weird intro logo/jingle. Those are time waisted and I usually don’t stay past the start of those. You get a like just for that.
🤣 I have a very short attention span I like to get right to it. Thank you!
❤
I have some of your raspberry zinnias budding up now (central PA) and I'm so excited to see what they look like! Definitely getting some of the sunset seeds for next year now.
Hopefully you get some of those ombré looking ones. If you like those you’ll love the giant Carmine rose zinnias.
I just dug my thornless blackberry out from the ground and into a 27 gallon container and now they look like they’re dying. The roots were so big that I couldn’t get a hold of all the dirt around it in the transplant. Now I’ll have to see if it will freshen up again.
They should be fine as long as you keep them watered and in the shade for a few weeks.
Wow! This is so beautiful! I love all your sunset colors!
Thank you so much!
Do you start all of those indoors? That’s a LOT! They’re all so beautiful!
No these were direct sown. I only start about 5000 in trays and those are usually ones I’m breeding by hand.
@@MilkAndHoneyAcreage ‘Only’ 5,000 lol? That’s a ton!
Are you going to do a video of your hand breed Zinnias?
Prices are very high then what it use to be
I love them all ❤
Loving all these colours. Have been getting my seeds from ebay, am in uk. My favourite flowers. Last year every time I put them outside they were immediately eaten. Hopefully do better this year. Thanks for letting me walk around your farm with you
Do you have a lot of grasshoppers? The grasshoppers always eat them but we’ve put in a large wildflower meadow and that has stopped most of the damage for us. Thank you!
@@MilkAndHoneyAcreage No but we do suffer with slugs and snails. But your suggestion of grasshoppers makes me think of other little bugs and mites that it could be.
Just be careful with the leaves and unripe fruit as it's toxic. Only pick yellow ripe fruit to eat.
How do i know if my soil is well drained or not? Ive gotton some root rot and i dont know how to make my soil better. They are in raised beds and qe used sheeo manure that was suposedly composed for 2 years, but i saw some whole manure, so i wonder if it was not good for water draining
Stop watering and stick your finger in the soil every day for a few days if the soil is still moist 2 to 3 days later it’s not well draining. You can mix in some sandy loam or just sand to help break it up. Or you can adjust your watering schedule to only water when the soil feels dry.
She’s gorgeous! Can only ask if you have them planted in full sun? I’m in 8b and just purchased my first one want to plant her in the best spot
Yes she needs full blazing sun.
I'm actually about to try the yellow kne for the first time EVER today!!! It's on it's way here now! I'm so excited!!!! Lol 🤤😋
How did you like it?
How do you dehydrate watermelon? Is that a dumb question? Lol I've never heard of it buy I'd love to try it! I'd also love to try the first one that's kinda like a hybrid between both yellow and red. I don't think over ever heard a kid say something is too sweet. But I love sweet watermelon. I am horrible at picking out the right watermelon at the store. Any tips from the professionals? 😬😋🤤
We sliced them thin and put the in our tray dehydrated then put them in a jar with a silica packet. When choosing ripe watermelon we look for a good yellow spot and scratches on them.
VERT educational!!!!!! Most would have sent him to Freezer Camp! I'm so glad you made him a happy rooster with his own group of hens!!!!!!!!
Thank for this!❤❤❤❤
You're welcome 😊
Rosie has NOOOO eggs under her abd she is broody...
Beautiful ❤️😍😍😍
Thank you
I enjoyed your educational video, I will look for the black yellow wax beans from now on, I got mystery beans going from seeds bought at asian store, hope it's the purple yard long, seeds looks simular.
Thank you! I just bought some bare root hollyhocks and had no idea what to do.
Love your asparagus content! Thank you very much for your share
My hen only had 1 egg successfully hatch out of 8. She’s been with it for five days today so I decided to buy 6 and introduce them to her and she accepted all of them 😊
Don’t you just love that?
Thank you so much! Great info! Do you have a video on stem cutting propagation?
Unfortunately they can not be propagated from cuttings.
Our old Remington actuates hammer drive these nails flush with the 2x4. This dewalt leaves the entire nailhead + yellow rubber spacer ABOVE the top of the 2x4. Is there a way to adjust this?
The flower bed looks great! I can't wait to see the new transplants fill in and bloom this summer. TFS.
Me too!! Hopefully they take off.
What a lovely little video! I really enjoyed watching what you guys have done with your property. Seeing the family and baby together was really sweet! This was the first video of yours that I’ve watched and now I’m subscribed!
Thank you so much for the kind words. We sure are blessed.
Asparagus update please! 🥺😁
I’ll do a video soon and try and tag you in it.
My Mary Washington I planted, this is the second year after planting, and I have giant asparagus like that too on many of them. Most are smaller overall but some are like what in the radioactive Batman is going on here. I can’t wait till I get to start harvesting some next year and a bunch on the 4th year. So excited.
This was a couple of years ago, they are much bigger now probably too big. I’ll have to do and updated video soon.
@@MilkAndHoneyAcreage wow that’s amazing. I’d be happy to have asparagus that even bigger than that and still be tender and tasty??? that’s the goal right there.
Mine is in broody timeout now... Came here for more advice and to make sure I'm doing something right. She's sitting on top of her water now.... 🤦🏼♀️
There isn’t anything more pretty than a field of wild flowers. 😍
We agree 💕
Yellow roses are my favorite, but that lavender one at the end was gorgeous.
That is Lagerfeld and it’s amazing in person!
Love this video, keep sharing more beauty❤
Thank you 😊 we love this time of year.
Me too
I would hate to share my beautiful Peggy martins too 😊
So, If I poop in my bed, this simply would mean I don't know what the cluck am I doing.
I like the landscape staple idea, We moved and I brought my mom’s irises with me and one won’t stand up.
It works so well especially when you have little kids and a big ol dog running around. Lol
What's the actual name of the Rose they're stunning tons of flowers wow
Yellow one is Lady banks I think if I'm not wrong
Yes all the names are on the video the yellow is Lady Banks and the white is also lady banks.
Could you provide a link to that particular type of bag? Thank you! ;-)
I just added a product link to the video. I could find the exact ones on Amazon but you can also search “mesh produce bags size small”
@@MilkAndHoneyAcreage Thank you!
